In the countryside
Danish nature offers many exciting and beautiful outdoor activities, which both local populations and tourists enjoy. The most recent figures show that Danes venture out into nature more than 110 million times a year. This corresponds to 22 annual outings per Dane. The most-visited natural area in Denmark is Jægersborg Dyrehave (a forest park just north of Copenhagen), which is paid 7.5 million visits every year.
With facilities and activities ranging from hiking paths to nature guidance, the Danish Forest and Nature Agency works to create opportunities to enjoy the Danish countryside. The Ministry's work also supports other societal tasks such as initiatives by health authorities to promote public health and endeavours by the tourist authorities to attract more tourists to Denmark.
