Easier to keep track of environmental status
Publiceret 15-11-2019The Danish EPA is launching a digital environmental status report on 15 November. Both the public and professionals will find information on the state of the Danish environment.
What is the state of the environment? This question concerns many environmentally aware members of the public, and now it will be easier to keep track of the state of the environment. On 15 November, the Danish EPA is launching www.miljøtilstand.nu, where both the public and professionals can learn more about the status of the Danish environment on land, in the water and in the air.
The website has results from surveys and measurements across Denmark, illustrated through text, graphs and figures. It shows trends in recent years for invasive species, noise pollution, drinking water, waste volumes, etc. Indicators on the website have been carefully selected by experts to show an accurate and nuanced picture of the state of the environment. The website will be updated regularly with new information and data.
"We must protect the environment, and therefore I'm pleased that Danes now have an easy-to-use tool to keep them up-to-date with the state of the Danish environment. It gives us a nuanced and scientifically solid picture of the environmental status in Denmark," said Lea Wermelin, Minister for the Environment.
Previously, a long environmental status report was published every four years. Now, indicators will be updated regularly in the new digital Environmental Status Report. The new digital Environmental Status Report has also been made easier to read and more accessible.
